The one thing the printed menu never says
Everything here is vegetarian.
Not a small symbol beside a handful of dishes. Not a short list kept at the back of the folder, after everything else. There is no vegetarian section at Saffron & Sage, because there would be nothing to set it against — the kitchen cooks nothing else.
Which means the question never has to be asked, and nobody at the table has to read the small print before they order. Whatever arrives, everyone can eat it. That is the quietest kind of hospitality there is, and it runs the whole length of the menu below.
